Between them, Fanny Blake and Alison Baverstock have worked in senior positions for various key publishing houses, undertaken diverse freelance roles, written about the industry and conducted ground-breaking research into the jobs and motivations of those involved. Just as important, they are both published authors – and have worked on the other side of the fence as reviewer, judge and mentor. Here they share their understanding of industry practices, consider non-traditional ways of reaching readers – and explore how you can improve your chances of getting published. Straightforward, practical advice from those who have experienced the frustrations of trying to get published as well as lived the dream.
