The Joy of Science
Acclaimed physicist Jim Al-Khalili presents eight short lessons on how science helps us navigate this unpredictable world, explaining the core principles that can unlock the clarity, empowerment and joy of thinking and living a little more scientifically. Exploring the nature of truth, the pros and cons of simplification, the value of guarding against bias, and more, he shows these powerful ideas’ relevance to today’s complicated times and difficult choices.
Professor Jim Al-Khalili is a theoretical physicist at the University of Surrey, where he also holds a chair in the public engagement of science. He has written many books of popular science, and is a regular presenter of science programmes for radio and TV, hosting The Life Scientific on BBC Radio 4.
